Before PRP, I was in pain 24/7 on my ankle. After, I was able to return to running, just not as far. My quality of life is better after having the PRP injection. Dr. Darr is always patient with me and takes time to listen. I always feel very comfortable at my appointments that all of my questions were answered. Dr. Darr has been amazing for me. Dr. Darr is not one to rush in to surgery, he will give you many options for care.
After a PRP injection, I definitely feel an improvement to my ankle. I am not on my pain pills as regularly as before. Dr. Darr spends quality time and care with me. That is very important to me. I have, and would recommend Dr. Darr. He is very caring and I see a great improvement in my injuries.
PRP helped me have less pain in my hand with movement; however, I still have some joint pain. Dr. Darr is detailed, informative, and tells you what he is going to do and what to expect while he performs the procedure. He doesn't rush you in and out Dr. Darr is professional, friendly, detailed, and seems as excited about PRP and Stem Cell therapy as I am. This is cutting edge procedures in orthopedics.
PRP allowed me to walk/run without pain or discomfort after one injection. The quality of the end product stands out to me. My left hip qualified for replacement and now it functions with only occasional, mild discomfort Please go see Dr. Kevin Darr.
My hip feels so much better after PRP treatment. My quality of life has improved. I am amazed with my hip's improvement without any surgical procedures involved. I wish I would have known about this treatment option earlier, it was well worth the time. Dr. Darr and his team are outstanding. The care, friendliness and concern of his staff are wonderful. They are truly professional. Dr. Darr spends a lot of one on one time with his patients and has an extremely caring personality. I trust him implicitly with my health. I would give Dr. Darr and his team my highest recommendation (and often do to my friends and family). A++++!
The PRP procedure helped me to avoid rotator cuff surgery. The procedure aided in healing a partial tear of my left shoulder rotator cuff. I am now back to having no shoulder pain and back to normal daily routine. Dr. Darr and his staff were great. Prior to the procedure I was provided with all the information needed to make an educated decision. Before, during, and after the procedure the staff provided me with excellent care. I would say Dr. Darr and his team are truly professional and care about you as a patient. They are first class.
Prior to the PRP in both shoulders, I couldn't lift a coffee mug into the microwave with my right arm. The pain in my left arm was staggering If i allowed it to hang beside me. Since the PRP, I can aim my thumb straight downward while moving my right arm outward to bow my cello. The arm has limitations, but I am glad to be out of pain in my shoulder elbow and wrist. As for the left arm, I still cannot rotate the arm enough to play my violin, but I am able to begin recovery of my string playing shoulder since the PRP. Dr. Darr used ultrasound to identify tendon status in my arms prior to PRP. He also used ultrasound to inject the tendon and cartilage, giving me better results than what my colleagues have had where MDs didn't use the guidance of ultrasound. Very important was his ability to refute the MRI with contrast reports that suggests the tendons were broken. Dr. Darr seems confident about what he can do, and indeed has made an incredible difference in my ability to function as a professional cellist.
After the PRP injection, the pain in my shoulder and neck gradually got to a point where it became a nonfactor in my work and sleep. The quality of care was excellent and the doctor's belief in the method was a determining factor in my doing this treatment. I have already said to friends that I highly recommend this procedure as an alternative to surgery.
I received two of the PRP injections. First procedure, the pain got progressively better as each of the 7 weeks went by. The second procedure relieved top of the shoulder pain and back. Dr. Darr gave me quality care and expertise of my shoulder problem. He used his knowledge to determine where the injections needed to be done. I have already referred Dr. Darr to people and I will continue to refer patients to him.
I am a 57-year-old who loves to garden, ride horses and maintain a job as an accountant. After experiencing severe shoulder pain for about a year that was keeping me up at night and unable to even relax on my sofa comfortably, I was diagnosed with a torn tendon. I thought the only way to fix it would be surgery with a long recovery period. Just prior to my scheduled consultation appointment with Dr. Darr, I happened to read an intriguing article in my Vet's office about a revolutionary medical procedure that was successfully regenerating cartilage in horses with fractures. I thought, if they are doing this for animals, why can't they do it for people...? Well I had always had confidence in Dr. Darr's knowledge and skills as an orthopedic surgeon, but I was pleasantly surprised when he suggested an alternative to surgery for my pain. He told me that he has been using the same basic procedure quite successfully in many of his patients who had tendon, ligament, and bone issues that may otherwise have needed surgery to correct. He called it PRP therapy. I opted for this more conservative, less invasive approach and had the procedure done in his office. I remember actually being able to feel the healing effects within one day! It's been almost a year since my procedure and my shoulder pain is still completely gone. In fact, it was so effective, I tell everybody about my good fortune and Dr. Darr. To think that I was ready to have shoulder surgery and that this simple, and almost painless procedure helped me so much, is sometimes hard to believe.
After having left knee MCL and meniscus tears, I was in constant pain especially at night. The PRP injection took away most of that. I am having a second PRP procedure with the expectation of full recovery. I can sleep on my side now and do my 12-hour shift at work. Everyone that took part in my care was exceptionally caring and courteous, explaining everything before it was done. Love Dr. Darr and Tabitha! They are the best, always taking as much time as I needed. I highly recommend Dr. Darr and his staff and have already done so to 2 friends. I would shout it to the world!
Having the PRP procedure done to my knee was life changing. Before coming to Dr. Darr for this issue, my previous doctor was ready to operate on my knee to help with my pain. Dr. Darr's PRP made surgery unnecessary. Dr. Darr always greets you with a smile and a handshake. He lets you know all of your options for care and he lets you choose which one you'd like to go with. Never any pressure. I always recommend Dr. Darr to those inquiring or complaining about knee pain. I hand out his cards on a regular basis.
I was having severe knee pain and an MRI confirmed I had re-torn my meniscus After a PRP injection, I was able to play tennis 2 days after and now play 5 days a week and am pain free. Dr. Darr and Daryl Stanga spent a great deal of time with me and answered all of my questions. They are great! Dr. Darr and Daryl Stanga are very caring, knowledgeable, and willing to devote all necessary time to their patients.
I had the PRP injection and I feel that this procedure dramatically accelerated my recovery from a tibia plateau fracture. I was off crutches and cane in just 4 weeks. Dr. Darr was very diligent, patient, and answers all of my questions thoroughly. Patients should expect very professional care from all personnel at Covington Orthopedic, from support staff to Dr. Darr.
The PRP injection in my knee helped with the pain and walking for about a year. The amount of time Dr. Darr spends with me stands out. When he talks, he talks to you, not down to you. This doctor does a great job, I would send anyone to him 100%. He does what he says he is going to do and explains everything very well.
